Job Description


We are seeking a Research Investigator - Plant Pathology / Disease Phenotyping to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in plant pathology research, disease phenotyping, and experimental design in field and controlled environments and a proven ability to deliver high-quality, decision-enabling data that supports breeding, trait characterization, and product advancement.


Responsibilities:



  • Plan, lead, and execute plant pathology studies in field, greenhouse, and growth chamber settings.

  • Design and coordinate controlled-environment assays and field disease screenings with rigor and quality.

  • Conduct isolate characterization and manage phenotyping workflows to meet project timelines.

  • Document methods, analyze and summarize results, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Plant Pathology, Plant Science, Agronomy, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in plant pathology research and disease phenotyping.

  • Proficiency executing experiments in field and controlled environments with attention to data quality and timelines.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to adapt methods and make data-driven decisions.


Preferred Skills:



  • Experience leading projects end-to-end with minimal supervision and delivering clear recommendations.

  • Effective cross-functional communication with research, breeding, and technical teams.


Assignment Details:



  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some select weekend work required.

  • Driving: Occasional driving required.

  • Special Equipment: Work boots required.
