BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) is seeking a Test Engineer to support integration, verification, and validation of advanced radar systems. This role focuses on executing test activities across development and integration environments, ensuring system performance meets requirements and supporting transition from development into production.

The Test Engineer works closely with systems, hardware, and software teams to plan and execute testing, analyze results, and resolve issues in a complex, multidisciplinary environment.

The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. What You'll Do:
  • Support execution of system integration and test activities for radar programs.
  • Ensure alignment between requirements and verified system performance.
  • Contribute to successful development, integration, and production transition.
  • Improve test processes, data analysis, and overall test efficiency and rigor.
  • Support development and execution of test plans, procedures, and test campaigns.
  • Perform system, subsystem, and component-level testing in lab and integration environments.
  • Collect, process, and analyze test data to evaluate radar system performance.
  • Support integration activities across hardware, software, and firmware components.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and document test anomalies and system issues.
  • Support verification of requirements through test and analysis.
  • Assist in development of test automation tools, scripts, and data analysis methods.
  • Document test results and contribute to technical reports and review artifacts.
  • Support preparation and execution of formal test events and technical reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test readiness and issue resolution.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 4 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active Secret security clearance is required.
  • 4+ years of experience in test engineering, integration, or related technical roles.
  • Experience supporting integration and test activities on complex systems.
  • Familiarity with test planning, execution, and data analysis.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in lab or integration environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with radar or RF systems testing.
  • Familiarity with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or equivalent).
  • Experience with test automation or scripting.
  • Understanding of systems engineering processes, including requirements verification.
  • Experience supporting environmental or qualification testing.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
