Job Description

Product Manager- Child Care
Location: Hybrid — 3 days on-site at 2 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY 11201 / 2 days remote
Duration: 6 Months (~910 hours)
 
Scope of Services
The Product Manager will lead end-to-end delivery of digital applications and services, guiding multi-disciplinary product teams through the full product lifecycle into continuous delivery and support. Core responsibilities include:
  • Synthesize research, analytics, and best practices to solve problems for New Yorkers
  • Build roadmaps outlining direction and timing for product development
  • Manage the software product lifecycle from conception to launch — bridging program strategy, user experience, and technology
  • Define and validate that features solve real user problems
  • Prioritize work to maximize user value and program impact; filter out non-strategic requests
  • Define and monitor outcomes and KPIs for evidence-driven improvements
  • Translate user needs into requirements; guide program, UX, and engineering teams
  • Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and system requirements with UX and engineering
  • Treat other agencies' stakeholders as critical customers of the product
Mandatory Qualifications (candidates without these will not be considered)
  • 8+ years of proven product-management experience supporting the launch of digital features/products using SDLC best practices
  • Hands-on experience developing digital products through the full lifecycle: planning, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
  • Ability to manage multiple products from strategy to executional detail
  • Expertise using data to support decisions and prioritization of requests, enhancements, and new features
  • Experience synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., Google Analytics) to drive decisions
  • Experience working across ecosystems, platforms, and new technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; self-motivated and proactive
  • Best-in-class attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication
  • Proven track record aligning diverse groups and perspectives toward a common goal
