Unix Administrator
: Boston, MA
: 100% Onsite at Client Location
: 8 10 Years
We are looking for an experienced to provide day-to-day administration and production support for Unix/Linux servers at a client location in Boston.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in server administration, troubleshooting, system maintenance, monitoring, and supporting highly available production environments.
* Strong Unix/Linux administration experience
* RHEL, Oracle Linux, Solaris, or AIX
* Shell scripting using Bash or Korn Shell
* File system management, user administration, permissions, and access control
* Server monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity management
* OS installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
* Incident, problem, and change management
* Networking fundamentals and troubleshooting
* Experience with monitoring and ticketing tools
* Basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud environments is an advantage
* Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
* Administer and support Unix/Linux servers across production and non-production environments
* Monitor server health, performance, availability, and system capacity
* Perform user administration, file system management, and access control
* Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Unix/Linux operating systems
* Troubleshoot system, application, and performance-related issues
* Perform routine maintenance and backup verification
* Support incident, problem, and change management activities
* Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures
* Coordinate with client and internal support teams to resolve technical issues
* Participate in on-call support as required
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
* Unix/Linux certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or Oracle Linux are a plus
