Software Engineer with Security Clearance

Overview Bowhead is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons && Guided Munitions Division (E20) to support software development of Naval gun weapons systems in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities • Develop and design data analysis scripts in MATLAB or Python, as well as methods and tools to review and analyze data from various testing efforts • Design and develop analysis material, root cause analysis, analyzing data as well and preparing visual reports to include two- and three-dimensional plots, and presenting the findings of the analysis to help in proving system methods, capabilities and readiness of the system • Testing and operating distributed systems during internal Verification and Validation sprints and/or field testing • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific or technical discipline and two (2)+ years of experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. • Must be competent in the development of MATLAB or Python scripts to process large amount of structured data files as well as processing the data files. • Testing and evaluation experience. • Ability to communicate with all levels of team members on the project. • Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel. • Ability to define task details, estimates, and schedules using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word.) • Must have at least an interim Secret security clearance.

Desired Skills: • Experience with Hyper Velocity Weapons preferred. Familiarity with research and development projects a plus. • Experience related to gun weapon systems and/or Army/Navy programs.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Physical Demands: • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically Targeted salary range is $75,000 to $100,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
