Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated DevSecOps Engineer to support integration and deployment activities for advanced vehicle electronic systems. The successful candidate will work closely with software developers, systems engineers, cybersecurity teams, and operations teams to implement and maintain secure, automated, and reliable software delivery processes.

This role will focus on CI/CD automation, GitOps practices, embedded software development, system troubleshooting, infrastructure automation, and DevSecOps best practices in a fast-paced engineering environment supporting complex vehicle and real-time systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
  • Implement GitOps principles to automate application and system deployments.
  • Work with source control platforms including Git, GitLab, and Bitbucket.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, Go, or other scripting languages.
  • Develop and maintain reliable C/C++ code for long-term, maintainable embedded systems.
  • Troubleshoot low-level software issues and determine whether problems originate from hardware or software.
  • Support embedded and vehicle electronic systems integration and deployment.
  • Work with Linux-based systems, system programming, device drivers, bootloaders, memory maps, and related technologies.
  • Support build environments using Yocto, OpenEmbedded, Buildroot, and Python-based tools.
  • Work with development environments including Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Utilize GDB/GNU Debugger and support development using Qt where applicable.
  • Collaborate with software developers to improve build, test, release, and deployment processes.
  • Support requirements management using tools such as DOORS.
  • Manage tasks, defects, and engineering activities using Jira and GitLab Issues.
  • Document infrastructure, processes, deployment procedures, and automation scripts.
  • Support collaboration and knowledge management through Confluence, GitLab Wiki, and related tools.
  • Apply DevSecOps principles, Agile methodologies, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment practices.
  • Support security technologies such as SELinux, Verified Boot, and Trusted Execution Environments.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of safety-critical and real-time systems.
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues.
  • Promote DevOps culture, automation, security, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5–7+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong experience with modern CI/CD tools, including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
  • Experience implementing GitOps-based deployment automation.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
  • Experience developing or maintaining C and/or C++ code.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across software, hardware, and embedded systems.
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, and software development workflows.
  • Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Linux device drivers, bootloaders, memory maps, and system programming.
  • Experience with Yocto, OpenEmbedded, or Buildroot.
  • Experience with GDB/GNU Debugger and Qt.
  • Experience supporting safety-critical or real-time systems.
  • Experience with embedded system security, including SELinux, Verified Boot, and Trusted Execution Environments.
  • Experience with self-update frameworks or open-source software updaters.
  • Experience supporting ground combat vehicles, military vehicles, automotive systems, or complex vehicle electronic systems.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitLab Wiki, and GitLab Issues.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be comfortable working in prototype shops, laboratories, manufacturing environments, and office settings.
  • Ability to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is preferred.
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometric Size Requirement (ASR) requirements for confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work overtime when required.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple functions and organizational levels.
