Product Designer – AI-Native Applications

Responsibilities

• Own the interaction, visual, and experience design of major customer-facing product surfaces.
• Translate complex operational requirements into intuitive workflows and interfaces.
• Conduct user interviews, workflow analysis, usability testing, and design iteration.
• Help shape product direction based on customer needs and business objectives.
• Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and reusable design components.
• Design data-rich experiences such as dashboards, maps, activity histories, workflows, alerts, and operational tracking.
• Create clear and trustworthy conversational, agent-assisted, and automated AI experiences.
• Use AI-native design and coding tools to move from concept to working product quickly.
• Implement designs in the frontend codebase and contribute production pull requests.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering throughout development, release, and iteration.
• Maintain high standards for accessibility, usability, consistency, and visual quality.

Required Qualifications

• Strong product-design experience across interaction, visual, and experience design.
• A portfolio demonstrating customer-facing products or major product surfaces that you personally owned and shipped.
• Evidence that your products were deployed and adopted by real users.
• Experience influencing what gets built, not only executing predefined specifications.
• Strong product judgment and ability to simplify complex, ambiguous workflows.
• Hands-on frontend implementation ability using modern web technologies.
• Experience using AI-native development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar.
• Ability to work in a Git-based environment and contribute production code through pull requests.
• Experience working directly with users, engineers, and product stakeholders.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Figma or comparable design tools.
• Experience designing dashboards, maps, monitoring tools, or other data-dense and real-time interfaces.
• Experience designing AI assistants, conversational interfaces, agent-mediated workflows, or automation.
• Familiarity with design systems, reusable frontend components, responsive design, and accessibility.
• Backend or full-stack development exposure.
• Experience in a startup or small, fast-moving product team.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern CI/CD practices.

Additional Preferred Experience

• Experience with IoT, logistics, construction, healthcare operations, location technology, industrial applications, or other physical-operations environments.
• Experience designing products involving live and historical data, utilization, alerts, workflows, or progress tracking.
• A background combining formal design training with hands-on software engineering.

You are a design-first product builder who can understand customers, determine the right experience, produce high-quality interaction and visual designs, and help implement the solution directly.

Candidates whose backgrounds are limited to marketing design, static websites, or handing design files to engineering teams will not be a match.
