Job Description

Assistant Project Manager – Water

Location: Kent

Salary: £42,000 – £55,000


An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to join a growing project delivery team working across a portfolio of water infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects in Kent .

This role would suit an ambitious Assistant Project Manager with a background in civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities who is looking to take on greater project responsibility and progress towards a Project Manager position.


The Role

Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you will support the successful delivery of projects from planning and pre-construction through to delivery, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of multiple projects
  • Monitoring programmes, costs, risks and overall project performance
  • Coordinating contractors, subcontractors and key stakeholders
  • Supporting commercial and change management activities
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
  • Producing project reports and providing regular progress updates
  • Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities
  • Supporting commissioning, completion and final handover


About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or a related construction environment
  • Previous experience supporting the delivery of construction or engineering projects
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Good commercial and programme awareness
  • The ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders
  • APM, PMQ or PMP qualification , or working towards a recognised project management qualification


Previous experience within the water sector would be advantageous but is not essential , with candidates from the wider civil engineering and infrastructure sectors encouraged to apply.
