Job Description

Octavius Finance is partnering with a highly regarded boutique asset manager to identify a Global Equity Analyst to join an established and successful income-focused investment strategy.

The strategy invests across global equity markets , with a broad remit spanning the US, Europe, UK and Emerging Markets . The investment team takes a genuinely generalist, fundamental approach , combining bottom-up company analysis with thematic research to identify attractive long-term investment opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a high-quality buy-side equity analyst to join a lean investment platform, work closely with experienced portfolio managers and contribute meaningfully to the investment process. The role offers excellent career progression, with the successful candidate being offered a clearly defined pathway to money-management.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  1. Conduct fundamental research across a broad range of global companies and sectors.
  2. Undertake thematic research , assessing structural trends and their implications for companies and industries.
  3. Identify attractive investment opportunities across the US, Europe, UK and Emerging Markets .
  4. Build detailed financial models and undertake valuation and company analysis.
  5. Contribute to stock selection and the wider portfolio construction process.
  6. Develop and present investment ideas to the investment team.

Requirements

Our client is seeking an ambitious and intellectually curious equity investor with 3–8 years of experience and a strong track record of fundamental research.

Candidates should have:

  1. Buy-side equity investment experience within either a traditional asset manager / long-only environment or a long/short equity hedge fund .
  2. A broad, generalist investment background , rather than highly specialised sector coverage.
  3. Experience analysing companies across multiple sectors and, ideally, multiple geographies.
  4. Strong fundamental research, financial modelling and valuation skills.
  5. A genuine interest in global equity markets and the ability to develop differentiated investment views.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. A collaborative, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to operate effectively within a lean investment team.

Candidates with experience conducting thematic or thematic-driven equity research are particularly encouraged to apply.
