IT Category Procurement Lead

Introduction: We are looking for an experienced Category Leader, an expert in IT sourcing, to join our team. The position involves managing strategic IT sourcing initiatives, developing category strategies, and negotiating high-value contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for IT software and hardware sourcing.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiate high-value contracts.
• Conduct market research, supplier evaluations, and supplier risk assessments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT suppliers.
• Create and maintain category plans to optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to drive sourcing strategies.
• Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices within IT sourcing and procurement.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Category Management.
• Strong experience managing IT software and hardware sourcing categories.
• Proven experience creating, negotiating, and managing high-value contracts.
• Strong supplier relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Contract Management.
• MBA or related advanced degree.
• CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Experience leading cross-functional sourcing initiatives and driving category strategy.

Additional Information

• Local Bay Area candidates only.
• Hybrid schedule with onsite work in Oakland approximately 3-5 days per month.
• Contractor must provide their own laptop and any additional equipment required for the assignment.
• A personal phone (no reimbursement) or Microsoft Teams will be used for calls and meetings.
