Senior SDET / Test Automation Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce's client in Long Island City, NY is seeking a highly technical Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to drive automation strategy, build scalable testing frameworks, and support next-generation AI-driven quality engineering initiatives. This role will play a key part in establishing testing standards, improving software quality, and advancing automation capabilities across mission-critical airline operations systems.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain reusable test automation frameworks and assets
• Establish automation best practices and quality engineering standards
• Support AI-driven testing initiatives, agents, and MCP server technologies
• Develop API, integration, end-to-end, and mobile test automation solutions
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot complex automation and framework issues
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve software quality

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, automation engineering, or software development
• Strong experience building automation frameworks and testing solutions
• Proficiency with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or similar technologies
• Experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or comparable tools
• Knowledge of CI/CD, API automation, service virtualization, and cloud platforms
• Familiarity with AI-enabled testing, agents, and MCP servers is a plus
• Airline industry experience required, with knowledge of airline operations systems

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
