Job Summary

The State of North Carolina is seeking an experienced MS Power Platform Developer with strong expertise in Power Platform and SQL Server to design, develop, and support enterprise-grade applications and automation solutions for the Division of Public Health. This hybrid role focuses on business process automation, database management, and secure enterprise application development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop applications using Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Dataverse.
  • Integrate Power Platform solutions with SQL Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, and external systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases.
  • Create stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and ETL processes.
  • Build secure enterprise data models and database integrations.
  • Implement Power Platform governance, ALM, and environment strategies.
  • Troubleshoot application, workflow, and database performance issues.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver scalable technical solutions.
  • Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Support modernization, automation, and cloud adoption initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of Microsoft Power Platform development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agent, and Dataverse.
  • 7+ years of SQL Server development and database integration.
  • Expertise in T-SQL, performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Experience with SQL Server administration (On-Premises/Azure SQL).
  • Knowledge of APIs, Microsoft 365, Azure integrations, and data governance.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) Certification or higher.
  • Experience with Power BI, Dataflows, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Azure DevOps/GitHub CI/CD experience is a plus.
