Job Description

Based at our Head Office and Factory in Goole, you'll be a driving force in product development, product support, and regulatory compliance. Working hand-in-hand with our sales team, valued customers, and production, you'll play a crucial part in the Technikraft Team.

THIS IS NOT A HYBRID ROLE/MUST LIVE WITHIN COMMUTING DISTANCE or be prepared to move.

About Us

Technikraft Ltd is a private label company servicing a wide range of industries. You will work across a genuinely broad portfolio: automotive fuel and engine treatments, cycling and motorcycle care products, cleaning chemicals, lubricants, coatings, hand care formulations, and industrial rust preventives and degreasers. A love of practical and independent work, scientific curiosity, and an ability to solve technical problems are all critical for the role.

About You

You're a qualified Chemist with at least a BSc in Chemistry with significant experience in product development and a strong understanding of regulatory landscapes. You're ready to be hands-on, involved in the commercial process, and capable of supporting complex projects. While experience in HI&I (Household, Industrial & Institutional) chemistries is preferred, we're open to candidates with expertise in other industrial chemistry domains.

This is a fantastic opportunity to engage directly with customers and brands, understanding their needs first hand and shaping product briefs from initial concept through to final approval. You will work closely with some of the recognised names in our client portfolio, giving you genuine ownership and visibility of your work in the market, not just a lab bench role. Technical support to the operations department and QC will also be expected, both when scaling up new products and helping to address any production issues.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop new and existing products to meet customer requirements
  • Organise and carry out product testing e.g. performance, stability, compatibility, competitor analysis
  • Meet with customers and communicate regularly about their requirements for product development, or any issues with current products
  • Keep records of project progress, updating interested parties when required
  • Talk to suppliers to find new raw materials that offer technical and commercial advantages
  • Review alternative raw materials for use in production
  • Prepare and despatch samples of formulations to the customer
  • Produce and amend production scale batch formulations, and set product specifications
  • Work with manufacturing to ensure lab work scales up smoothly to production blends
  • Support investigations into non-conforming materials
  • Support other departments with your technical knowledge, in areas such as sales, safety and quality
  • Supporting with regulatory enquiries and SDS authoring (online/off-site training provided)

Key Skills

  • Essential: BSc in Chemistry or related science
  • Essential: 2+ years' formulation experience within cleaning, lubricants, or coatings (or a related speciality chemicals environment)
  • Desirable: MChem or PhD in Chemistry, Formulation Science, or a related discipline
  • Strategic Problem Solving
  • Exceptional Attention to Detail

The Details

• Package: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

• Benefits: 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) standard company pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, Electric Vehicle salary sacrifice car scheme

• Travel: Occasional, within the UK and Europe

• Working Week: 37.5 hours each week based at our Goole office.
