Mainframe COBOL Support Lead

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS optional

Perform impact analysis, estimation, coding, unit testing, and defect resolution.

Provide L2/L3 production support including abend resolution and batch monitoring.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirement gathering and solution design.

Participate in code reviews, documentation, and quality assurance processes.

Handle version control and deployment using SCM tools like Endevor preferred (Changeman, ISPW, PANVALET.)

Lead or mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision-making.

Engage in client communication and status reporting.

Languages: COBOL, JCL, SQL

Databases: DB2, VSAM, (CICS Optional)

Operating Systems: z/OS, MVS, UNIX

SCM Tools: Endevor( Changeman, ISPW, PANVALET)

Utilities: File-Manager, SPUFI, XPEDITER, ABEND-AID, CA-7 (ZEKE/ Control-M,)

Others: CICS, TSO/ISPF, ServiceNow, JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins
