Were working with a highly respected manufacturing business in Stokesley who is looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineering Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a key leadership role within a technically complex, high-mix, low-volume environment. The business is entering an exciting growth phase, offering genuine scope to influence strategy and drive operational performance.
Reporting to the Operations Director and forming part of the Operations Management Team, youll lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians, ensuring strong engineering support across production, NPI and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing Manufacturing Engineering team, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support to resolve complex manufacturing challenges across production and existing products.
- Drive DFM throughout the NPI lifecycle, ensuring smooth transition into production.
- Manage KPIs, budgets and performance metrics in line with business objectives.
- Champion Lean, structured problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify and implement new equipment, technologies and process enhancements.
- Work cross-functionally with Design, Projects, Supply Chain and Operations.
- Support bids and customer opportunities with technical input.
- Ensure compliance with H&S, industry standards and customer requirements, maintaining strong 5S standards.
Essential:
- Degree qualified in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering Manager or senior-level role.
- Background in electronic or electro-mechanical manufacturing.
- Experience within high-mix, low-volume environments.
- ERP knowledge.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Chartered status (or working towards).
- Lean qualification.
- APQP/PPAP exposure.
- CAD experience.
- Experience in regulated industries.
