Job Description

Your new company

You will be joining a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong presence across the UK and internationally. The organisation delivers technically diverse building services projects across sectors including healthcare, life sciences, defence and renewable energy. You will become part of a collaborative team focused on delivering sustainable, resilient and high-quality engineering solutions.

Your new role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical building services projects from early concept through to detailed design and construction. You will produce electrical designs, calculations, specifications, reports, drawings and plant schedules, typically working across RIBA Stages 1 to 4. You will manage your own workload across multiple projects, undertake site surveys and construction-stage duties, and coordinate with clients, architects and other engineering disciplines. You will also contribute to sustainable and energy efficient designs while helping to maintain a consistently high standard of technical delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally have:

  • An accredited degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Relevant experience in electrical building services design
  • Strong knowledge of applicable technical standards and legislation
  • Experience producing calculations, specifications, reports and technical drawings
  • Proficiency with software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Relux, Dialux, Amtech or NBS
  • The confidence to work independently and manage priorities across multiple projects
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills
  • An interest in progressing towards Chartered Engineer status
  • The ability to obtain or hold MOD Security Check clearance
  • Previous senior level experience, including project coordination and mentoring junior colleagues, would be advantageous.

What you'll get in return

You will have the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of technically challenging projects within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. The position offers exposure across the full design lifecycle, opportunities for professional development and the chance to contribute to innovative and sustainable building systems. Hybrid or flexible working arrangements may also be available, subject to project and business requirements.
