HRT is seeking qualified PhD candidates for our Winter Internship Program. Our PhD Winter Internship program is a 3 week introduction to quantitative research designed for graduate students with little or no experience in quantitative trading. Over the course of the program, you will:
- Learn about a wide range of trading styles from leading experts in the field
- Work on independent research projects, representative of real work at HRT
- Train models on our state of the art compute cluster
- Explore all that New York City has to offer through a variety of social events and tech talks
This program begins on January 4, 2027. This is an in-person program and will take place in our New York City office.
Requirements
- You are a full-time PhD student graduating between fall 2027 and summer 2029 in a technical or quantitative discipline (math, physics, computer science, statistics, machine learning, or a related program)
- Demonstrated experience in programming; familiarity with Python and/or C++ is preferred
- A passion for technology and excitement for learning something new
- Exceptional problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
This program is specifically offered for individuals without extensive experience in the quantitative trading industry.
Weekly base salary of $5,800 in addition to company-paid housing, meals, and other perks.
