IT Software Engineer 5 (Ecommerce Search Lead).

Location

Chicago IL, Dallas TX, Peoria IL , Broomfield CO

Position Summary
This is a Lead Software Engineer role focused on building and leading enterprise ecommerce search solutions. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Coveo (preferred) or Vertex AI Search, strong AWS experience, and a background in designing low-latency, scalable search platforms with modern search technologies such as NLP, vector search, and personalization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define the technical vision and architecture for the enterprise search platform.
  • Design and implement scalable, low-latency search services.
  • Lead and mentor a team of search engineers.
  • Develop advanced search capabilities including:
    • NLP-powered search
    • Vector search
    • Personalized search experiences
  • Build analytics around search performance:
    • Click Through Rate (CTR)
    • Query Distribution
    • Zero Search Results
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineering teams.
  • Drive best practices through code reviews and technical leadership.
