Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer Oracle Linux | KVM | OLVM | Architecture-Led Are you an Oracle Linux KVM expert ready to take full ownership of enterprise virtualisation platforms? We're looking for a hands-on SME / Architect to design, build and deliver secure, large-scale KVM environments in highly regulated, mission-critical settings.

We are looking for someone with SC clearance in place for the role - NPPV3 is also required for the role but this can be obtained before starting. This is a genuine end-to-end role - from gathering requirements and producing architecture through to build, migration, assurance and handover into live service.

What You'll Be Doing Lead the design and delivery of Oracle Linux KVM / OLVM platforms<br />Produce high-quality HLD &amp; LLD documentation<br />Architect and implement:

KVM hosts, clusters &amp; virtualisation environments<br />Storage domains (NFS, iSCSI, FC)<br />Logical networks, VLANs &amp; VM standards<br />Deliver build, configuration, migration and platform validation<br />Design for high availability, resilience &amp; disaster recovery<br />Define standards across:

Security hardening &amp; compliance<br />Performance &amp; capacity optimisation<br />Backup, monitoring &amp; automation<br />Work closely with infra, network, security &amp; application teams<br />Provide technical leadership and mentoring What You'll Bring Deep, hands-on expertise in Oracle Linux KVM &amp; OLVM (oVirt)<br />Strong experience designing enterprise virtualisation platforms<br />Proven delivery of HLD &amp; LLD documentation<br />Solid knowledge of: qemu-kvm, libvirt, VDSM<br />VM lifecycle, HA &amp; live migration<br />Strong Linux administration &amp; system hardening<br />Storage &amp; networking design (SAN, VLANs, bridging, bonding)<br />Automation skills (Ansible, Bash, Python, APIs)<br />Excellent stakeholder engagement &amp; problem ownership Guidant, Carbon60, Lorien &amp; SRG - The Impellam Group Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
