Job Description

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager with strong Data Centre and client-side experience to join a project in London. The successful candidate will provide H&S leadership and support the General Contractor (GC) in developing and implementing robust systems and controls around high-risk construction activities. This is a 6-month contract , with the possibility of extension. The role is site-based 5 days per week and requires someone who can start at short notice, ideally within 4 weeks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide H&S leadership and oversight from the client side on a Data Centre project.
  • Work closely with the General Contractor to develop and implement effective H&S management systems.
  • Develop and improve permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities.
  • Establish and manage permit systems covering areas such as: Riser works, Energisation, Ladder control, other high-risk activities as required
  • Support the GC in ensuring appropriate controls are in place for high-risk activities.
  • Review existing processes and identify opportunities to strengthen H&S systems and controls.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and contractors to ensure H&S requirements are effectively implemented on site.
  • Provide technical H&S guidance and ensure that high-risk activities are appropriately managed.


Key Qualifications:

  • Strong technical competence in Health & Safety.
  • Proven Data Centre experience is essential.
  • Client-side H&S experience is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and implementing H&S systems for high-risk activities.
  • Experience developing or managing Permit-to-Work systems.
  • Strong understanding of construction H&S risks and appropriate control measures.
  • Experience working closely with General Contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.


Note: Valid UK work permit/right to work is required.
