About the roleWe are seeking a driven, commercially astute Business Development Manager to join our Crown Sales team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Director of Sales, your role focuses on driving new business acquisition and sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities- Drive new business growth by identifying, targeting, and converting high value opportunities aligned to revenue strategy.
- Build and maintain a strong, forward looking pipeline through proactive prospecting and lead generation.
- Collaborate with Sales Managers to maximise conversion and revenue outcomes.
- Represent Crown at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to generate leads and build brand presence.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform sales strategies.
- Maintain a deep understanding of Crown's hotels, events, and integrated offerings.
- Effectively manage CRM systems to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and client insights.
- Mentor and support junior team members to build capability and drive team performance.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key external partners.
- Contribute to achieving revenue targets across accommodation and events segments.
- Analyse and report on pipeline performance, lead conversion, and revenue outcomes.
- Identify and leverage cross property opportunities across Crown's national portfolio.
You are a results driven, relationship focused sales professional with a passion for winning new business and delivering commercial impact.
What you'll bring- Minimum 5 years' experience in business development or account management within a hotel or MICE environment.
- Strong understanding of MICE market dynamics and trends.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving new business growth.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management.
- Ability to influence, collaborate, and mentor across teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Hospitality, Business, or a related discipline.
