Senior Engineer, Database and OS Developer

Job Description:

• Connectivity Validation: Design and build validation frameworks to test and enforce secure database connectivity standards (Oracle, Postgres) across Google Cloud Platform and GKE platforms.
• Low-Level Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex environment issues spanning Linux OS dependencies, firewall rules, blocked ports, DNS resolution, and SSL/TLS certificates.
• Application Readiness: Validate runtime dependencies, JDBC configurations, connection pooling, and environment variables for containerised workloads (Java/Spring Boot).
• Automation & Scripting: Create reusable automation scripts for system health checks and connectivity validation using Shell, Python, and SQL.
• Operational Alignment: Support application migration waves, smoke testing, and production-readiness checkouts while maintaining a strict, audit-aware security posture.

• Experience: 5+ years in Systems Engineering, Database Engineering, or Production Support; 5+ years of dedicated enterprise Linux/Unix experience.
• Database Connectivity: 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting Oracle and/or Postgres connectivity (drivers, connection pools, network paths).
• Full-Stack Troubleshooting: Proven ability to isolate root causes across the OS, database, network, and application runtime layers.
• Scripting: High proficiency in writing robust Shell, Python, and SQL scripts.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IS, Engineering, or equivalent practical enterprise experience.

• Strong background in highly regulated, compliance-driven industries (Healthcare/HIPAA).
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform, GKE, Cloud SQL, Oracle DB@Google Cloud Platform).
• Familiarity with secure access patterns including IAP tunneling, bastion hosts, and privileged access workflows.
• Exposure to distributed data systems (Redis, Kafka) and enterprise batch schedulers.
