Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Epic Integration Engineer to design, develop, and support integrations between an Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and various third-party healthcare applications.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Epic BridgesHL7FHIRREST APIs, and healthcare integration technologies, along with experience supporting clinical and revenue cycle workflows.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain integrations between Epic and external healthcare systems.
  • Build and support HL7 interfaces, FHIR APIs, RESTful web services, and ETL processes.
  • Analyze clinical and operational workflows and translate business requirements into technical integration solutions.
  • Configure and maintain Epic Bridges interfaces and enterprise interface engines.
  • Monitor interface engines and messaging queues to proactively identify and resolve integration issues.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Epic Bridges integration development and support.
  • 3+ years of experience working with HL7 v2.x messaging, segments, and healthcare data standards.
  • 1–2+ years of experience developing FHIR APIs and RESTful web services in a healthcare environment.
  • 3+ years of experience administering or developing enterprise interface engines such as:
  • Cloverleaf
  • Corepoint
  • Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect)
  • Experience translating clinical and operational workflows into technical integration specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
