Role: Lead Data Scientist
Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid – 1 Day in a Month)
Job Type: Contract
 
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy AI/ML and Generative AI solutions for complex business problems. This role collaborates with business, product, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-impact data science solutions aligned with enterprise goals.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and deploy AI/ML models, products, and tools.
  • Develop LLM and RAG-based solutions.
  • Optimize code and ensure model performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Lead model evaluation, tuning, and deployment.
  • Utilize AWS services (Bedrock, Lambda, Kendra, SageMaker).
  • Identify gaps, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
  • Mentor junior team members and drive best practices.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Science / Machine Learning.
  • Strong experience with LLM, Generative AI, and RAG.
  • Strong engineering skills and code optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS stack (Bedrock, Lambda, Kendra, SageMaker).
  • Expertise in statistical modeling, ML algorithms, and data analysis.
  • Strong SQL and communication skills.
  • Self-driven with strong problem-solving ability.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Agentic AI.
  • Knowledge of MLOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience with vector databases for RAG.
  • Familiarity with data engineering tools (Spark, pipelines).
  • Experience in Agile/SAFe environments.
