Senior AWS Architect – Automation & Infrastructure

Role Summary

Seeking an experienced Senior AWS Consultant / AWS SME to deliver cloud automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, security, disaster recovery, and operational runbooks in a regulated financial-services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AWS automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform IaC.
• Build automated AWS account vending, security controls, and governance.
• Develop recovery automation using AWS Step Functions, Systems Manager, Lambda, and AWS Backup.
• Support Amazon EKS security baseline and Kubernetes/GitOps deployments.
• Develop Python/boto3 automation, validation scripts, backup-integrity canaries, and operational runbooks.
• Support AWS security services including IAM, KMS, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Config.
• Create audit-ready architecture documents, runbooks, ADRs, and technical evidence.
• Work as an embedded AWS SME with engineering, security, SRE, and operations teams.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of hands-on AWS/cloud engineering experience.
• Expert Terraform and strong Python/boto3 skills.
• Strong experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, IAM, EKS, Step Functions, Systems Manager, Lambda, AWS Backup, S3, and CI/CD.
• Experience with GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux) and Kubernetes security.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, DR, automation, and observability.
• Experience working in large regulated/financial-services environments.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred

• AWS DevOps Engineer Professional / Solutions Architect certification.
• Terraform Associate or CKA.
• Experience with BitBucket, Nexus, AWS DRS, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and AWS Config.
• Knowledge of DORA, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, SEC cyber rules, RegSCI/SIFMU.
