What You'll Do
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a critical role in optimizing our manufacturing operations by:
- Designing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and production systems
- Supporting and troubleshooting conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and automated machinery
- Leading projects focused on safety, productivity, quality, and cost reduction
- Analyzing equipment performance and implementing solutions to improve uptime and reliability
- Partnering with Maintenance, Production, Quality, and Operations teams to solve technical challenges
- Managing capital improvement projects from concept through implementation
- Developing preventive maintenance strategies and equipment standards
- Identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization
- Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions related to equipment failures
- Maintaining engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience working with conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and industrial machinery
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing engineering projects and working cross-functionally
- Proficiency with CAD software and engineering design principles
- Knowledge of machine safety standards and manufacturing best practices
- Experience in metal fabrication, packaging, steel, automotive, or other high-volume manufacturing environments
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Continuous Improvement (CI) experience
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation
- Project management experience
- Spanish language skills (highly valued)
- Experience with reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, or TPM initiatives
