Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 Days a Week Only)
Short Description:
Works as part of the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Information Management (OIM) team and plan, coordinate, develop, implement data modernization of vital statistics and vital records related projects.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Migrate legacy PL/SQL Web Toolkit applications to Oracle APEX.
- Develop secure, scalable, and responsive Oracle APEX applications.
- Design and maintain Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and database objects.
- Ensure application security and HIPAA compliance for sensitive PII/PHI data.
- Develop modern user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Integrate applications with Virginia state and federal agency systems.
- Optimize Oracle database performance through SQL and PL/SQL tuning.
- Support data modernization initiatives for Vital Records and Screening systems.
- Collaborate with business users, DBAs, and development teams in an Agile environment.
- Perform testing, debugging, deployment, and production support.
Required Skills:
- Oracle 11g/18c/19c database.
- Strong sql and pl/sql experience.
- JavaScript OR jQuery.
- Oracle APEX.
- Oracle PL/SQL web toolkit.
