Job Description

Welder / Structural Mechanic (m/f/d) | Kassel, Germany | On-site

We're hiring on behalf of a leading European system house that engineers, manufactures, and supports a diverse product portfolio, including armored vehicles, artillery systems, and military bridging solutions. As a key player in the European defense landscape, this employer combines innovation with tradition, offering challenging projects in a collaborative environment.

The Role

  • Review manufacturing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Inspect and prepare components according to drawings, performing weld preparation as needed.
  • Select appropriate welding procedures and assemble components according to drawings and work plans.
  • Tack-weld assemblies, considering distortion, stability, and shrinkage.
  • Conduct final welding, grinding, and straightening based on drawing specifications and work plans, producing small and large assemblies from steel, Cr-Ni, and armor plate.
  • Coordinate with production planning and quality assurance, documenting work processes.

What You'll Need

  • Completed training as a structural mechanic with welding technology, a certified welder, or a metalworker in construction technology, with experience in welding processes 135 (MAG), 141 (WIG), and 111 (LBH).
  • Proficiency in specific welding certifications: EN ISO 9606-1 (141, 111, 135) with various welding consumables.
  • Ability to work in shifts as required.
  • A self-reliant working style with a strong sense of responsibility.
