Interaction Designer /UI Engineer

Job Description

Role: UI Engineer / Interaction Designer (Remote)
Location: Remote
Duration: 12-month contract (potential extension/convert to FTE)
Schedule: Mon-Fri, standard hours with some flexibility for global collaboration

About the Role
We're seeking a UI Engineer / Interaction Designer who thrives at the intersection of design and frontend engineering. In this role, you'll help shape high-quality digital experiences, working closely with design, engineering, and content teams to bring ideas to life-from concept to production.

This is a hands-on role for someone who cares about what gets built, not just what gets designed.

What You'll Do:

• Design and build scalable, high-quality UI experiences
• Develop and maintain design systems and reusable components
• Translate design concepts into production-ready code
• Create prototypes using Figma and AI design tools
• Integrate content using headless CMS platforms (e.g., Sitecore)
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders
• Contribute to data visualization and interactive experiences
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in UI/UX + frontend development
• Strong skills in Figma and design systems
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React (or similar)
• Experience with component-based architecture
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
• Experience with data visualization (D3.js, Recharts, or similar)
• Familiarity with headless CMS platforms
• Strong visual design and interaction skills
• Ability to work across teams and communicate effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-powered design tools/workflows
• Background in B2B or data-driven product environments
• Experience with Storybook or design system documentation tools
• Knowledge of design tokens and scalable UI systems
• Experience in fintech, real estate, or similar industries
