Job Description

Job Title: Network Engineer
Project Duration: 36 Months
Location: Lexington, MA (Onsite)
Duration: Full-Time Contract
Clearance Requirement:
Candidates should have an active clearance
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a team responsible for the operations of the Laboratory’s enterprise classified networks.
  • Support the day-to-day administration of the network infrastructure.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and other networking devices within a classified environment.
  • Perform network systems analysis to identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Support network architecture implementation and optimization of distribution networks.
  • Configure and support networking applications and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SSH, FTP, HTTP/S, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Evaluate network hardware for DoD STIG compliance and assist with remediation efforts.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of enterprise monitoring and management tools including SolarWinds, Footprints, and BigFix.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s Degree.
  • Currently holds an active Secret Clearance (or higher).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Network Architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Network Systems Analysis.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience configuring and managing Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto network devices.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with General Dynamics Type 1 Encryptors.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Network Application Development (e.g., socket programming).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience optimizing distribution networks.
  • Strong knowledge of networking applications and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SSH, FTP, HTTP/S, BGP, and OSPF.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with DoD STIGs and evaluating network hardware for STIG compliance.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
