Data Center Services Engineer

What does a successful Data Centre Services Engineer do at Fiserv?

Join our growing APAC Data Centre team as a Data Centre Services Engineer supporting our primary Sydney facilities and additional national sites. This hands on role is ideal for someone who loves working in mission critical environments and wants to be part of a high performing global operations team.

What you will do:

  • Install, relocate, and maintain IT hardware and structured cabling
  • Perform copper & fibre cabling, labelling, documentation, and DCIM updates
  • Support daily operations, vendor management, and facility access
  • Assist with DR tests, UPS/black-building tests, and infrastructure upgrades
  • Maintain clean, safe, and compliant data-center environments
  • Provide first line hardware support and coordinate vendor repairs
  • Produce weekly/monthly utilisation and capacity reports

What you will need to have:

  • Experience in data centre operations or mission critical environments
  • Strong structured-cabling skills (Cat5e/Cat6, OM3/OM4/OS2)
  • Ability to read network diagrams and rack elevations
  • Confident communicator with excellent written English
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and lifting 20-25 kg
  • Strong problem solving skills and a proactive, organised work style
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Willingness to travel within Sydney and occasionally interstate
