Lead Backend Engineer – Node.js / TypeScript

Introduction:

This position is for a Lead Backend Engineer specializing in Node.js and TypeScript. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building scalable and resilient enterprise backend systems. This role will be remote and located in the USA.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript
• Implement microservices and distributed systems architecture
• Utilize Azure services such as AKS and Service Bus for cloud-based solutions
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
• Design and implement REST APIs and event-driven architecture
• Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines
• Provide production support and ensure observability of backend systems

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• 12+ years of experience in backend engineering
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience with Azure services like AKS and Service Bus
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Expertise in designing and implementing REST APIs and event-driven architecture
• Experience with CI/CD practices and tools
• Ability to provide production support and ensure system observability

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other cloud platforms besides Azure
• Familiarity with other programming languages and frameworks
• Knowledge of database technologies
• Experience working in a remote team environment
