Enterprise Architect

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join a complex delivery environment in Canberra, providing strategic and enterprise-level architectural guidance across programs and initiatives. In this role, you will apply a deep understanding of organisational systems, technologies, and processes to ensure solutions align with enterprise strategy. You will guide technology programs using an enterprise-first approach, promoting reuse of existing platforms and capabilities while ensuring scalable, secure, and sustainable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise architecture guidance across programs, projects, and technology initiatives
• Apply enterprise-first principles, promoting reuse of existing platforms and technology stacks
• Align solution designs with organisational architecture standards, policies, and roadmaps
• Guide technology programs to balance delivery outcomes with long-term architectural sustainability
• Review and influence solution architectures to ensure consistency, integration, and scalability
• Identify and manage architectural risks, dependencies, and constraints across initiatives
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment
• Support governance forums through architecture reviews, recommendations, and decision support
• Develop and evolve enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and reference models
• Build strong relationships across business and technical stakeholders to support delivery outcomes

What You'll Need

• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect within large, complex enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of organisational systems, technologies, and business processes
• Demonstrated experience guiding technology programs using an enterprise-first approach
• Experience driving reuse of existing platforms, services, and technology stacks
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, integration patterns, and system design principles
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide architectural decision-making
• Experience working across multiple delivery teams and technology domains
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate architectural concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in regulated or high-assurance environments is highly desirable
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with delivery pragmatism
