About the RoleThe Flood Restoration Portfolio (FRP) is seeking an experienced Senior Technology Officer to lead the delivery, support and continuous improvement of IT systems that enable our project teams to deliver critical infrastructure outcomes.
Working closely with Lismore City Council's IT team, you'll ensure the Portfolio's technology environment is reliable, secure and aligned with business needs. You'll provide senior technical support across office and field-based teams, manage IT assets, coordinate system improvements and act as the primary IT liaison for the Portfolio.
This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional who enjoys balancing hands on technical support with systems administration, technology planning and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead IT service delivery across the Flood Restoration Portfolio
- Manage and maintain laptops, mobile devices, monitors and IT peripherals
- Administer Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint and other business applications
- Coordinate IT onboarding and offboarding for staff and contractors
- Manage IT asset lifecycle, procurement and software licensing
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for hardware, software and network issues
- Partner with LCC's IT team to implement upgrades, security initiatives and technology projects
- Support cybersecurity, device compliance, backup and business continuity requirements
- Maintain IT documentation, standards and operating procedures
- Identify and implement technology improvements that enhance productivity
- Coordinate IT vendors and support providers where required
- Provide advice and training to users to maximise effective use of technology
You are a customer focused IT professional with strong technical capability and a passion for enabling people through technology. You enjoy solving complex problems, improving systems and building trusted relationships across the organisation.
You'll Bring- Experience administering enterprise IT environments
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows and cloud based technologies
- Experience with IT asset management and device lifecycle planning
- Knowledge of networking, cybersecurity and identity management
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management capabilities
- Experience working across multiple business systems and supporting operational teams
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience within local government, construction, engineering or project environments is desirable but not essential
Term Contract: contracted hours of work 35 hours a week/70 hours a fortnight up to 31 December 2027.
