Job Description:

Location: Dallas, TX (Remote)
Summary:
The Infrastructure and Operations organization is requesting approval to engage one to two senior Azure DevOps Engineers for a 6 9 month engagement to accelerate the remediation and modernization of critical Azure infrastructure components.
The remediation effort includes security, resiliency, disaster recovery, governance, and operational excellence initiatives across Azure platform services. Current project demand exceeds available engineering capacity and requires resources with deep Azure expertise who can execute complex infrastructure modifications while maintaining operational stability.
Because the resources will work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Development, and Operations teams, the engineers must be US-based (on-shore) and available during standard business hours for planning, implementation, production change windows, troubleshooting, and incident response activities.
The primary objective is to accelerate Azure remediation activities and reduce organizational risk associated with:
Platform resiliency gaps
Disaster recovery readiness
Security vulnerabilities
Configuration drift
Cloud governance deficiencies
Well-Architected Framework and remediation findings
Operational supportability concerns
The resources will assist with technical design, implementation, validation, operational documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal staff.
Scope of Work
1. Azure Networking and Availability Zone Architecture
Key Activities
Reconfigure Azure Load Balancers to support Availability Zones
Evaluate application dependencies and routing requirements
Design and implement zone-redundant architectures
Validate failover capabilities
Assist with production deployment planning
Review infrastructure for alignment with Azure Well-Architected Framework recommendations
Desired Expertise
Azure Load Balancer, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Front Door, Azure Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints, Network Security Groups, DNS architecture, Availability Zones, Regional resiliency design.
2. Azure API Management Disaster Recovery
Key Activities
Deploy and configure Azure API Management instances
Design and implement disaster recovery architecture
Configure multi-region deployments
Implement failover and recovery procedures
Validate connectivity and performance
Create operational runbooks and support documentation
Desired Expertise
Azure API Management, Azure Traffic Manager, Azure Front Door, Multi-region architecture, Disaster recovery planning, High availability design, API security best practices, Azure networking integration.
3. Azure Storage Account Security and Remediation
Key Activities
Review existing storage account configurations
Eliminate public access where appropriate
Implement private endpoints
Configure network restrictions
Enable diagnostic logging and monitoring
Implement encryption and key management controls
Standardize configurations across environments
Desired Expertise
Azure Storage, Blob Storage, Azure Files, Data Lake Storage Gen2, RBAC, Storage firewalls, Private Link, Managed Identities, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor.
4. Azure Service Bus Security and Hardening
Key Activities
Review existing Service Bus implementations
Implement secure authentication methods
Remove unnecessary access permissions
Configure private networking
Enable monitoring and alerting
Implement governance standards
Desired Expertise
Azure Service Bus, Managed Identities, RBAC, Private Endpoints, Azure Monitor, Event-driven architecture, Application integration patterns.
5. Azure Key Vault Security Improvements
Key Activities
Assess existing Key Vault configurations
Remediate security findings
Implement Private Endpoints
Review RBAC and access policies
Enable monitoring and auditing
Standardize secret management practices
Support integration with application teams
Desired Expertise
Azure Key Vault, Secrets management, Certificate management, Managed Identities, Azure RBAC, Azure Policy, CyberArk integration experience (preferred), Audit and compliance requirements.
