What you will do
- User Experience and Workflow Design: Design intuitive user experiences for ConductorOS operators, engineers, and mission users, with a focus on simplifying complex workflows across models, nodes, sensors, outputs, deployments, and system health.
- UI Development: Develop and maintain responsive, modern front-end components and application views that support ConductorOS mission workflows, operational dashboards, configuration screens, and administrative tools.
- Mission-Centered Design: Work with product owners, delivery teams, engineers, and end users to understand operational needs and translate those needs into practical interface designs, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready features.
- Data Visualization: Create effective visualizations for system status, deployment state, node health, alerts, mission readiness, telemetry, and other operational data that help users quickly understand what is working, degraded, blocked, or incomplete.
- Design System Development: Contribute to reusable UI patterns, design standards, component libraries, and interaction models that improve consistency across the ConductorOS platform.
- Human Factors and Usability: Improve the usability, clarity, and accessibility of ConductorOS by reducing operator burden, streamlining workflows, and ensuring critical information is presented clearly in time-sensitive mission environments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with back-end engineers, systems engineers, product managers, and delivery teams to ensure the user interface accurately reflects platform capabilities, API behavior, operational constraints, and field-derived requirements.
- Field-Driven Iteration: Support rapid iteration based on user feedback, lessons learned from demonstrations and exercises, and operational input from customer-facing teams.
What you need to have

- Experience with front-end technologies and frameworks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS3, or similar technologies.
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, interface specifications, and reusable design components using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar platforms.
- Ability to translate complex technical workflows into clear and intuitive user experiences.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, web services, and data-driven application interfaces.
- Familiarity with dashboard design, data visualization, system monitoring views, alerting interfaces, or operational status displays.
- Strong understanding of UX principles, usability, accessibility, responsive design, and human-centered design practices.
- Ability to work closely with engineers, product owners, delivery teams, and end users in an agile development environment.
- Quick problem-solving skills with exceptional aptitude, reasoning, and attention to detail.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
What we'd like you to have
- Experience designing interfaces for operational, mission, command and control, DevOps, platform engineering, or observability use cases.
- Experience with role-based workflows, deployment workflows, fleet or node management, alerts, audit history, or health and readiness dashboards.
- Experience working with distributed systems, edge systems, containerized applications, or AI/ML-enabled software platforms.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where user feedback, field results, and technical constraints drive rapid iteration.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
- Experience supporting defense, intelligence, command and control, autonomy, AI/ML, edge computing, or mission software environments is preferred.
