Software Engineer - SAP HANA Modules

Outstanding long-term contract opportunity! A well-known Financial Services Company is looking for a Software Engineer 4 in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid).
Work Environment

• Location: Charlotte, NC (300 S. Brevard St.)
• Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite (mandatory).
• Duration: 18-month contract with potential extension or conversion.
• Interview: One panel interview followed by an onsite final interview.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:

• 10-15+ years of SAP experience.
• Multiple end-to-end S/4HANA implementations.
• Strong expertise in BDC + BW/4HANA + SAC.
• Experience with Python, SQL, ETL, and SAP Datasphere.
• A background in enterprise analytics, reporting, and SAP modernization projects.
• The ability to work independently in a techno-functional role supporting a large SAP transformation initiative.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
• 10+ years of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 5+ experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, BDC, BW and SAC
• 5+ Years of Core SAP S/4 HANA systems and end to end architecture experience and life cycle management, service pack application and upgrade of the applications and infrastructure
• 5+ years of experience in SAP Data & Analytics technologies.
• 3+ years of experience designing & engineering cloud solutions for S/4 HANA SAP RISE solution
• Experience with SAP HANA data modeling and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and enterprise analytics.
• Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP data sources.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data transformation techniques.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA data models and extraction mechanisms.
• Strong SQL, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of data management and leadership, this includes delivering reliable and responsive systems, and discipline to continually root out issues at the core
• Experience with system and platform integrations, including service?to?service communication and enterprise integration patterns, experience with microservices architectures and API?first design
• Experience with cloud and container platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker)
• Experience with SAP Datasphere (core data modeling, spaces, data flows, replication)
• Knowledge of SAP Data Intelligence and SAP Integration Suite.
• Experience with Python, SQL, or data engineering tools.

Desired Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of financial services industry experience
• Technology delivery and relationship management experience with small and large business units in a large corporate environment
• Experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions
• Excellent communications, interpersonal, and presentations skills utilizing PowerPoint across technical and non-technical groups
• SAP certifications in:
  • SAP Business Data Cloud
  • SAP BW/4HANA
  • SAP Analytics Cloud
  • SAP HANA
• Experience supporting SAP transformations (ECC to S/4HANA, BW to Datasphere/BDC)
• Experience with data migration, reconciliation and parallel run strategies
• Experience with data product design, ownership models, and domain-oriented data architecture
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks - covered under Collaboration and Governance but added it under desired
• Hands-on experience with SAC Planning models (allocations, planning, versioning)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

What You Will Be Doing

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering.
• Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables.
• Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.

SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC)

• Design and implement SAP Business Data Cloud solutions to support enterprise analytics and data management initiatives.
• Develop and manage data products, data integration pipelines, and semantic models within BDC.
• Integrate SAP and non-SAP data sources into the business data ecosystem.
• Optimize data ingestion, transformation, governance, and performance within BDC.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to define data architecture and analytics strategies.

SAP BW/4HANA

• Design, build, and maintain BW/4HANA data models, ADSOs, Composite Providers, Open ODS Views, and InfoObjects.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using SAP BW data acquisition frameworks.
• Create and maintain process chains, data loads, and data quality controls.
• Optimize BW queries and performance for reporting and analytics workloads.
• Support data extraction from SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SAP SuccessFactors, and third-party systems.
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support activities.

SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Design and develop SAC dashboards, stories, applications, and planning models.
• Create executive-level KPIs, scorecards, and self-service analytics solutions.
• Develop SAC planning, forecasting, budgeting, and predictive analytics capabilities.
• Integrate SAC with BW/4HANA, SAP Business Data Cloud, S/4HANA, and external data sources.
• Implement security models, user roles, and data access controls.
• Optimize report performance and user experience.

Collaboration & Governance

• Work with business stakeholders to gather reporting and analytics requirements.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Participate in solution design reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation activities.
• Support Agile delivery processes and continuous improvement initiatives
