Senior Application Analyst (SAA) – Epic Beacon & Willow

Job Description
Seeking a Senior Application Analyst (SAA) with Epic certification in Beacon and Willow and a strong clinical pharmacy background to support and expand our oncology research initiatives.
The ideal candidate will combine pharmacy and oncology expertise with strong Epic application build experience to support the end-to-end development, testing, validation, and maintenance of research medication and protocol builds. The SAA will work closely with oncology clinical teams, research stakeholders, pharmacists, and IT partners to translate study requirements into safe, accurate, and operationally appropriate Epic solutions.
The role focuses on oncology research protocol and medication build. That includes coordinating build activities, managing research build timelines, and following the client’s established processes for validation, testing, documentation, and change control. The SAA will also serve as a quality assurance resource, reviewing other analysts’ research builds for clinical accuracy, consistency, functionality, and adherence to standards.
Candidates with prior experience supporting oncology clinical trials, research protocols, investigational medications, or oncology pharmacy workflows are strongly preferred. The candidate must be able to:

Key Responsibilities
Oncology Research Leadership
Serve as the primary application analyst supporting the Oncology Research initiative within Epic Beacon and Willow.
Coordinate and manage research build activities from initial requirements through validation, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support.
Attend recurring oncology research meetings, huddles, and project discussions, and provide clear, accurate status updates.
Maintain the oncology research build tracker, including status, milestones, dependencies, outstanding issues, and action items.
Partner with clinical research, oncology, pharmacy, and IT stakeholders to translate study requirements into appropriate Epic solutions.
Epic Beacon Build
Design, build, test, and maintain research medications and oncology treatment protocols in Epic Beacon and Willow.
Translate clinical and research requirements into functional Epic specifications and configuration.
Ensure research builds reflect study-specific requirements while remaining consistent with Montefiore workflows, standards, and system design.
Apply sound clinical and operational judgment when evaluating build requests and determining the optimal Epic solution.
Work independently in a fully remote environment with strong communication, accountability, and follow-through.
Quality Assurance, Validation, and Testing
Conduct thorough QA reviews of Beacon research builds completed by other analysts.
Validate research protocol and medication builds for accuracy, consistency, clinical appropriateness, and adherence to build standards.
Develop comprehensive test plans and scenarios based on clinical, operational, and research requirements.
Document testing results, identify defects or discrepancies, and coordinate resolution.
Participate in formal validation and change control processes per client standards.
Application Support and Issue Resolution
Participate in application team meetings, project meetings, status reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
Interpret end-user requirements and determine appropriate solutions, identifying downstream impacts or workflow concerns.
Provide timely, effective, and professional customer support.
Escalate issues appropriately and collaborate with other application teams, vendors, clinical stakeholders, and technical resources.
Maintain accurate, current documentation for build, testing, validation, workflows, and research protocols.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
Epic Beacon Certification and Epic Willow Certification (mandatory)
Licensed Pharmacist (RPh or PharmD) with a strong clinical pharmacy background
Proven experience with research protocol build in Epic
Deep understanding of clinical workflows, medication management, and protocol-driven care
Healthcare domain experience (required)
HIPAA, HL7, FHIR
Production Support, Business Analysis, Clinical Workflow Design
Detail-oriented, with a commitment to build accuracy and process adherence
Strong communication and collaboration skills
