An established global precision engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer to join its R&D team in Leicester.

The business designs and manufactures sophisticated, high-value electro-mechanical equipment for customers across a range of advanced technology sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electronics Engineer who wants a varied position combining electronic hardware, embedded firmware, systems engineering and hands-on R&D.

The Role

As Senior Electronics Engineer, you'll work across the complete product lifecycle from initial concepts and prototypes through to manufacture, product improvement and ongoing lifecycle support.

You'll collaborate closely with Mechanical, Software and Manufacturing Engineers, taking ownership of electronic development and helping resolve complex system-level engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic hardware, control systems and embedded firmware for complex electro-mechanical equipment.
• Carry out schematic capture, PCB design, prototyping, testing and product validation.
• Develop embedded hardware involving microcontrollers, data acquisition, communications and motor control.
• Troubleshoot complex electronic and system-level issues, working cross-functionally to develop robust solutions.
• Support products from R&D through to manufacture, including DFM, documentation and ongoing product development.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience in electronics design and development within machinery, instrumentation, automation or complex electro-mechanical products.
• Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics, schematic capture and PCB design.
• Experience developing hardware and firmware for microcontrollers, including communications, data acquisition and/or motor control.
• Practical, hands-on engineering capability covering prototyping, testing, fault finding and PCB rework.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
