Summary
Celestica is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Supervisor to lead customer product lines within our electronics manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of industry experience and a solid understanding of complex production processes, with a specific focus on the assembly and integration of advanced liquid cooling solutions and data center racks. The Supervisor is responsible for daily oversight of production, ensuring line quality, maintaining safety, and maximizing team efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Forecasting: Contributes to monthly forecasts and owns daily/weekly output and quality targets.
- Daily Operational Oversight: Receive production plans and directly coordinate personnel and materials to ensure that daily production goals (volume, quality, and deadlines) are met.
- Line Management and Efficiency: Directly manage and monitor production lines for the assembly of complex systems, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and process issues in real-time.
- Quality and Compliance: Enforce quality standards, perform in-line inspections, and collaborate with the Quality team to address defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions (8D).
- Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Team Leadership: Lead, instruct, mentor, and motivate frontline production staff. Manage shift schedules, attendance, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Safety: Enforce all company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Support and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) at the line level to improve efficiency, ergonomics, and reduce scrap.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 4 to 6+ years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Demonstrated experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), with strong familiarity with complex system assembly, including liquid cooling components or data center rack integration.
- An Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field (Engineering, Manufacturing Technology) is preferred.
- Proven ability to effectively manage, train, and motivate line personnel to achieve production goals in fast-paced environments.
- Solid understanding of electronic assembly processes, mechanical fitting, and familiarity with production tools and machinery.
- Proficiency in using basic PC applications (e.g., Excel for production data tracking, Word, PowerPoint).
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Work Environment: Duties are primarily performed in a high-tech manufacturing environment, with potential exposure to machinery, noise, and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) requirements.
- Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, frequent walking of the shop floor, and the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Flexibility: Must be available to work various shifts and flexible hours based on production demands.
- Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines
