R-00187512 Description Leidos is seeking a Data Engineer to support CDC DHP data modernization, analytics, and cloud-based data management initiatives. This role provides hands-on technical expertise for development, migration, testing, validation, and sustainment of analytical workflows supporting surveillance, research, reporting, and operational activities. Primary Responsibilities: * Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration solutions.
* Support migration and modernization of SAS-based analytics and reporting workflows.
* Develop ETL/ELT processes and cloud-based data engineering solutions.
* Implement automated testing, validation, and monitoring processes.
* Support data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across multiple analytical environments.
* Develop reusable code, technical documentation, and deployment procedures.
* Collaborate with architects, analysts, and program stakeholders to support modernization objectives. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
* 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, software development, or cloud-based data management.
* Strong SQL skills.
* Hands-on experience with Python, R, SAS, PySpark, or comparable technologies.
* Experience developing ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Experience supporting CDC, HHS, or public health data systems.
* Experience supporting SAS-to-Python, SAS-to-R, or similar modernization initiatives.
* Experience with EDAV (Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Delta Lake, R Studio, PowerBI, Tableau), 1CDP (Palantir Foundry), Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
* Experience supporting migration from SAS to other analytics solutions (e.g., R, Python, Databricks, Palantir Foundry).
* Experience supporting dual-run validation, equivalency testing, and controlled migration approaches.
* Experience with Git, CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud deployment practices.
* Preferred Certifications: Databricks Data Engineer Associate/Professional, Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203), Azure AI Engineer Associate, or equivalent.
* Master's degree preferred.
