We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Product Analyst with deep expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), particularly in large-scale enterprise transformations. This role will play a key part in defining, documenting, and driving the transition from legacy, home-grown IAM/IGA platforms to a modern platform such as Saviynt across a complex global organization with thousands of applications and diverse user populations.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IGA models, governance processes, compliance-driven access controls, business requirements gathering, workflow design, and transition planning, and will be able to translate business needs into actionable engineering and delivery tasks. This role requires close collaboration with product, architecture, engineering, operations, legal, compliance, audit, and testing teams to deliver scalable and compliant IAM capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements for IAM and IGA capabilities.
- Understand and document current-state and future-state processes for:
- Access requests
- Approvals
- Joiner/Mover/Leaver processes
- Certifications and access reviews
- Self-service IAM capabilities
- Role-based and policy-based access governance
- Work with business stakeholders to understand how identity lifecycle and access governance processes operate across multiple departments, business units, and geographies.
- Translate complex business requirements into clear user stories, epics, process flows, functional specifications, and engineering-ready tasks.
IGA Transformation & Transition Planning
- Develop and support transition plans for large enterprises moving from legacy, home-grown IAM/IGA platforms to modern IGA platforms such as Saviynt.
- Support migration strategy and phased onboarding for organizations with thousands of applications and complex entitlement structures.
- Help identify functional and process gaps between current legacy capabilities and target-state Saviynt capabilities.
- Partner with architects, design leads, and operations teams to define remediation actions, implementation tasks, validation steps, and production transition activities.
Saviynt Product & Capability Alignment
- Demonstrate strong understanding of Saviynt IGA functions and product capabilities.
- Maximize the use of out-of-the-box functionality, standard workflows, and available connectors wherever possible.
- Support decisions on when to use standard product capabilities versus custom configuration.
- Contribute to process and functional design for application onboarding, identity lifecycle management, access requests, approval workflows, certifications, and policy enforcement within Saviynt.
Governance, Risk, Compliance & Audit
- Ensure IAM/IGA processes align with regulatory and control requirements, including:
- SOX compliance
- GDPR compliance
- Internal controls and audit requirements
- Work with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams to review proposed governance processes, document controls, and obtain approvals.
- Understand audit expectations and support evidence collection, process transparency, and control documentation.
- Help define and document governance processes for multiple workforce populations, including:
- Internal employees
- External users / contingent workers
- Business partners
- Suppliers / vendors
- Other controlled-access identities
- Account for country-specific legal, regulatory, and operational differences in identity governance, certifications, and access management processes.
Delivery, SDLC & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work within both Waterfall and Agile SDLC delivery models depending on program needs.
- Collaborate with project managers and product teams to convert requirements into work plan items, milestones, and delivery tasks.
- Work closely with:
- Architects
- Engineering teams
- Design leads
- Operations/support teams
- Testers / QA
- Define acceptance criteria, approval checkpoints, verification activities, and production readiness requirements.
- Support gap identification, process design, solution validation, and production transition planning.
Documentation, Communication & Enablement
- Produce high-quality documentation including:
- Business requirements documents
- Functional specifications
- Process flows
- Governance models
- User guides
- Operating procedures
- Training and presentation materials
- Clearly communicate process designs and decisions to business, technical, compliance, and leadership stakeholders.
- Deliver strong presentations and facilitate workshops with global stakeholders.
- Use common AI tools to improve efficiency across SDLC activities such as requirements drafting, documentation, process analysis, summarization, and delivery support.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), with significant exposure to Identity Governance and Administration (IGA).
- Proven experience working on enterprise IAM/IGA transformation initiatives, including migration from legacy platforms to modern IGA solutions.
- Strong experience with Saviynt, including familiarity with key IGA capabilities, workflows, and connectors.
- Deep understanding of:
- Access request processes
- Approval models
- Joiner/Mover/Leaver lifecycle management
- Access certifications and reviews
- Segregation of duties / governance controls
- Self-service IAM functions
- Experience capturing requirements across complex organizations with multiple user populations and policy variations.
- Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements such as SOX and GDPR.
- Experience supporting audit processes and control documentation.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical tasks and project delivery work items.
- Experience working with distributed/global teams across multiple countries and time zones.
- Strong documentation, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Ability to support West Coast working hours and participate in occasional late-night meetings when required for global coordination.
