Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer  to support the modernization and re-write of a .NET application for a state government client. This role will be responsible for ensuring all technical documentation, business process descriptions, system requirements, workflows, and release materials are accurate, consistent, and aligned with governance standards. The TW3 will work closely with Software Developers, Business Analysts, Program Teams, QA Testers, and Project Leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain Architecture Diagrams, API Documentation, Data Dictionaries, Entity Relationship Diagrams, and System Configuration guides
  • Document current and future state workflows including Intake Process, Billing Flows, Automated Jobs, and System Interactions
  • Maintain documentation libraries and subscription lists
  • Develop and maintain user documentation for multiple applications
  • Create User Guides, Quick Start Manuals, SOPs, and Training Content for Program Staff, Supervisors, and Administrators
  • Determine procedures for use of online documentation tools and manage version control
  • Educate business and technical groups on documentation standards and best practices
  • Identify and initiate continuous improvement opportunities
  • Develop accurate estimates for documentation requests/activities
  • Track issues, risks, and action items
  • Manage, deploy, and schedule Technical Writer activities
  • Develop short- and long-term documentation plans and schedules
  • Partner with Team Leads and Group Leads to set documentation goals

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with a focus on Technology
  • 5–6 years of experience in projects involving legacy system migration, re-factoring, or modernization (highly preferred)
  • Ability to work hybrid in Columbus, OH and report onsite as needed
  • Must be located within the United States (government equipment restrictions apply)
  • Must be willing to undergo a fingerprint background check
