Job Description

Location: East Birmingham<br />Salary: £35,000–£45,000 per annum<br />Benefits: Private medical insurance, company pension, ongoing training and development<br />Job Type: Permanent We are looking to recruit an experienced UKAS Calibration Engineer to join a well-established and growing calibration business based in East Birmingham. The position can be tailored around your experience, with opportunities available for engineers who prefer laboratory-based work, onsite calibration, or a combination of both. Engineers from a wide range of calibration disciplines will be considered, including dimensional, mechanical, electrical, temperature, pressure, torque, force and mass. The Role As a UKAS Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for calibrating a range of test and measurement equipment in accordance with UKAS, ISO 17025 and internal quality procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Calibrating test and measurement equipment within your specialist discipline
  • Completing calibration work within the laboratory and at customer sites
  • Producing accurate calibration certificates and technical documentation
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with UKAS and ISO 17025 standards
  • Identifying equipment that is outside of specification
  • Carrying out basic fault finding, adjustments and repairs where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate records within the calibration management system
  • Supporting internal audits and continuous improvement activities
  • Liaising professionally with customers and providing technical support
  • Ensuring calibration equipment and reference standards are correctly maintained The Candidate The successful candidate will ideally have:
  • Previous experience working within a UKAS-accredited calibration environment
  • Experience calibrating test and measurement equipment within a relevant discipline
  • A strong understanding of UKAS and ISO 17025 requirements
  • Experience producing calibration certificates and maintaining technical records
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • A full UK driving licence Experience across multiple calibration disciplines would be advantageous but is not essential. What We Offer
