Job Description

CoGen Service Technician (Union Job) | Philadelphia, PA, United States | Hybrid We're hiring for a leader in the HVAC and refrigeration industry, recognized for its commitment to employee growth and stability. The Role • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical/electrical repairs on natural gas and biogas engines, generator sets, and CHP power generation equipment. • Monitor system performance remotely, diagnose technical malfunctions, and provide solutions for complex equipment including CHP and Balance of Plant systems. • Conduct engine overhauls, electrical and mechanical testing, calibration, and commissioning of power systems. • Interface with system operators and field technicians, providing technical guidance and support. • Maintain detailed project and service records, ensuring clear and concise reporting for internal and external stakeholders. • Adapt to diverse team needs and address both internal and external requirements with flexibility and creativity. What You'll Need • Strong reciprocating engine and electrical background with proficiency in internal combustion engines and generator sets (ideally natural gas, but diesel or other engine technologies considered). • Experience with complex technologies such as aircraft engines and turbines may be considered as transferable skills. • Ability to perform technical start-ups, diagnose, and independently repair power systems. • Basic working knowledge of advanced controls, safety shutdowns, circuit breakers, and control panel wiring. • Willingness to travel frequently, including occasional weekend work and overtime. • Possess a valid driver's license and proficiency in IP Networking troubleshooting.
