Procurement Engineer - Power & Substations

Our client is a leading engineering and infrastructure organisation delivering complex power transmission, renewable energy, and substation projects. They are looking to appoint a Procurement Engineer to support the successful delivery of major EPC projects across the UK.

This role will take ownership of procurement activities across both tender and project phases, ensuring cost-effective sourcing solutions while maintaining quality, compliance, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end procurement activities for tenders and projects.<br />Develop sourcing strategies and identify new suppliers and subcontractors.<br />Issue RFQs and evaluate technical and commercial proposals.<br />Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms.<br />Prepare bid evaluations and total cost analyses.<br />Manage purchase orders and supplier performance.<br />Support expediting, claims management, and issue resolution.<br />Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.<br />Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.<br />About You CIPS qualified or equivalent procurement experience.<br />Experience within power transmission, distribution, substations, renewables, utilities, or EPC projects.<br />Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills.<br />Knowledge of international procurement practices and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).<br />Confident managing multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.<br />Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.<br />What's On Offer?
