Project Manager

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering major new-build commercial construction projects.

SMSTS &amp; First Aid are mandatory.<br />*To be considered for this position you must be based within 1 hours commute of Lincoln<br />The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects, managing the project team from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover.<br />This is a key leadership position requiring a Project Manager with strong main contractor experience and a proven track record of delivering significant new-build projects safely, on programme, within budget and to a high standard.<br />Key Responsibilities<br />• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of new-build construction projects<br />• Manage projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover<br />• Lead and coordinate the site-based project delivery team<br />• Manage Site Managers, Engineers, Design Managers, Building Services Managers and other project personnel<br />• Work closely with the commercial team to maintain strong financial and contractual control<br />• Develop and manage the construction programme alongside the Project Planner<br />• Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective measures where required<br />• Manage subcontractors and ensure packages are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme<br />• Coordinate design, procurement and construction activities<br />• Chair project, progress and subcontractor meetings<br />• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholders<br />• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities<br />• Ensure quality standards and specifications are maintained throughout construction<br />• Ensure compliance with company health &amp; safety procedures and statutory requirements<br />• Monitor project resources and ensure appropriate labour, plant and materials are available<br />• Manage project reporting and provide regular progress updates to senior management<br />• Oversee commissioning, snagging, practical completion and final handover<br />• Ensure project documentation, O&amp;M information and handover requirements are completed correctly<br />Candidate Requirements<br />• Proven experience as a Project Manager within a main contracting environment<br />• Tier 1 or major main contractor experience strongly preferred<br />• Demonstrable experience delivering significant new-build construction projects<br />• Strong commercial and contractual awareness<br />• Excellent understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and programming<br />• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors<br />• Strong knowledge of health &amp; safety, quality and construction compliance<br />• Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills<br />• Confident dealing directly with clients, consultants and senior stakeholders<br />• Ability to take full ownership of project delivery and drive performance across the project team<br />• Relevant construction qualification preferred<br />• SMSTS<br />• CSCS<br />• First Aid qualification preferred<br />The Opportunity<br />This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Tier 1 main contractor with a strong pipeline of new-build projects.<br />The position offers responsibility for significant construction schemes and the opportunity to work with experienced commercial, design, planning and building services teams
