M&E Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced M&amp;E Engineer to join a well-established building services maintenance team working across London and the South East. The role will involve working across high-end residential developments and office buildings, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a wide range of mechanical and electrical building systems.<br />This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone confident working independently in plant rooms and building services environments.<br />Commercial Gas qualifications would be highly advantageous, as there is the opportunity to undertake commercial gas servicing and maintenance alongside the core M&amp;E duties. However, these qualifications are not essential, and we welcome applications from experienced M&amp;E Engineers without gas certifications. An enhanced salary package is available for candidates who hold relevant Commercial Gas qualifications.<br />Key Responsibilities<br />Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and electrical systems.<br />Diagnose and repair faults on HVAC and building services equipment.<br />Service and maintain Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs).<br />Work on heating systems, including control interfaces and heating circuits.<br />Attend reactive breakdowns and restore systems to full working order.<br />Inspect, test, and maintain ventilation and cooling systems.<br />Work with pumps, valves, and associated mechanical plant.<br />Carry out basic fault finding on electrical systems linked to HVAC equipment.<br />Where qualified, undertake commercial gas servicing, maintenance and fault finding.<br />Complete service reports and job documentation accurately.<br />Ensure compliance with health &amp; safety procedures on all sites.<br />Key Systems Experience Required

• Air Handling Units (AHUs)
• Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
• Heating systems and interfaces
• Ventilation systems
• Chilled water/cooling systems
• Mechanical plant room equipment
• Basic Building Management Systems (BMS) awareness (desirable)<br />Requirements
• Proven experience in M&amp;E, HVAC, or building services maintenance.
• Strong background in mechanical systems (electrical knowledge beneficial).
• Ability to work independently on site.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Relevant qualifications in mechanical/electrical engineering (NVQ, City &amp; Guilds, etc.) preferred.
• Commercial Gas qualifications (e.g. CODNCO1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1/TPCP1A or equivalent) are highly desirable but not essential.<br />Desirable Experience
• Experience with office and residential building maintenance contracts.
• Exposure to HIUs (Heating Interface Units).
• Knowledge of pressurisation units and pumps.
• Previous mobile engineer or multi-site maintenance experience.
