Our client is looking for a Lead IT Business Systems Analyst - SAP Benefits & Payroll for a 6 month to 1 year contract opportunity located in Sacramento, CA. This role is 100% onsite.

Lead IT Business Systems Analyst - SAP Benefits & Payroll Role Overview We are seeking a Senior SAP Benefits & Payroll Functional Consultant to lead and execute complex benefits and payroll enhancements. In this role, you will drive requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders, configure complex SAP HCM modules, and deliver solutions tailored to organizational business needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Requirements Gathering: Facilitate sessions and workshops to elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements from enterprise stakeholders.
  • Complex Module Configuration: Lead and complete complex benefits service requests involving SAP payroll rules, schemas, functions, and intricate wage type configurations.
  • Process Enhancement & Automation: Create and update provider reports, automate benefit plan selections based on employee organization changes, and support broader payroll/benefits backlog projects.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Manage seamless data flow and integration between SAP Payroll and SAP Finance (FI).
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Produce comprehensive technical and functional documentation, providing clear knowledge transfer to permanent internal staff.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead SAP payroll business process testing and validate end-to-end functionality across release cycles.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
  • 8+ years of recent SAP configuration experience in the Benefits module (SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 8 standard).
  • 5+ years of experience specifically on SAP ECC 6.0 (any enhancement package).
  • 3+ years of experience within a public sector environment.
Core Technical Skills:
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in the following:
    • SAP Benefits & Payroll Configuration (ECC 6.0)
    • SAP Payroll Rules, Schemas, and Functions
    • SAP Wage Type Configuration
    • Integration between SAP Payroll and SAP Finance (FI)
    • Business Requirements Gathering and Scoping
