Role Overview:
GuideWell is seeking an experienced AWS EKS Engineer to build, operate, and continuously improve Kubernetes infrastructure on Amazon EKS. This role focuses on reliable, secure, and scalable platform operations, including GitOps-based delivery and strong automation practices. You'll partner closely with development and operations teams to enable containerization best practices and streamline deployment workflows. The position is hybrid in Jacksonville, FL (2-3 days onsite per week).

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced AWS EKS Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain our Kubernetes infrastructure on Amazon EKS. You will support our platform's reliability, scalability, and security while collaborating with development and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage Amazon EKS clusters in production environments
- Implement container image management workflows using Amazon ECR
- Design and maintain continuous deployment pipelines with Argo CD, Jenkins
- Monitor cluster health, performance, and cost optimization
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and implement solutions
- Document infrastructure architecture and runbooks
- Collaborate with development teams on containerization best practices
- Manage IAM roles, security policies, and network configurations
Required Experience
- 5+ years with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Amazon EKS clusters
- Proficiency with Amazon ECR for container image storage and lifecycle management
- Working knowledge of Argo CD for GitOps-based deployments
- Strong understanding of AWS services (VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, EC2)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Solid grasp of networking, DNS, and load balancing concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or CKA)
- Experience with Helm charts and Kubernetes package management
- Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- Background in CI/CD pipeline design
- Knowledge of container security scanning and compliance
